Hong Kong Railway Museum
Hong Kong Railway Museum located in the heart of Hong Kong's New Territories, Tai Po Market, Hong Kong Heritage Museum is under the branch, has a unique style pitched roof type of traditional Chinese architecture, devoted to the history of rail transport in Hong Kong. Today is the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The museum, formerly known as Tai Po Market Station, built in 1913, an area of 6,500 square meters, the past is an important station KCR. However, due to the introduction of the KCR train electrification in the 1980s, the new Tai Po Market Station opened in 1983, so the old Tai Po Market Station closed in the same year on April 6. Thereafter the site of the train station in 1984 was declared a monument, retrofitting rail around the station, and the original station buildings restoration and renovation work. Facilities and collections
The museum preserves the history of the car 6 card, manual and motorized truck each one.
