迦勒底的英灵里，近代的人物很少。由于距离如今的时间不过几百年，加上地球上的“神秘”随着科学的普及逐渐淡出人类视野，导致能够成为英灵的近代人物非常少。要么是自身经历带有传奇色彩，要么是因为自己的行为被夸张化而以另类的形象被记录在历史上。弗朗西斯·德雷克显然属于前者，她通过终结日不落帝国{西班牙}的海上霸权统治，成功的向世界发出“大海是自由的”的声音，同时也用自己的行动证明，人类的可能性是无限大的。

毫无疑问，德雷克算不上是一个好人。她是一个典型的“刹那享乐主义者”，即只要能够享受当前片刻的快乐，可以放弃许多东西。天性不愿受到束缚的她在西方“大航海时代”的召唤下投身大海，成为了一名英国争夺海上霸权的先锋官，实际上就是一名海盗。虽然她的性别履历上写明着自己女性的身份{FGO世界}，但是她却是个比男人还男人的女海盗，就连她的船员都没有把她当作女性对待。“不，如果说把船长当成女人来看，俺们就不能被看成是男人了呢，还是说这样对船长太没礼貌了呢？”某船员如是说。

德雷克的剧情主要出现在“封锁终局四海”这一篇章。作为主角团的协助者，德雷克带领主角团在一望无际却危险四伏的大海上驰骋，让初出茅庐的英灵和御主见识到了真正的勇者该怎样面对困难，一定程度上解开了玛修的心结。

最终还带领着主角团对上了希腊神话的传奇冒险团队：伊阿宋领导的阿尔戈船队。在与伊阿宋，美狄亚LILY，赫克托尔，以及赫拉克勒斯有不同程度的交手过后，我们取得了胜利，也在德雷克的帮助下取回了圣杯，结束了特异点的旅行。

平心而论，德雷克作为FGO一个过渡章节的剧情任务，能够做到把人物塑造得如此饱满，该说真不愧是型月吗？在体验这段剧情时，笔者仿佛真的在和一位生活在大海上航行的船上的海盗旅行一般。这位海盗豪爽，不拘小节，一言不合就开战，去哪全凭自己兴趣，觉得合理就帮，觉得不合理就大声呵斥，仿佛站在我面前一般。也许她不是整个FGO塑造的最好的形象，但她带给读者的体验，一定是最真实的。击落日不落太阳的女人，弗朗西斯·德雷克，她这么称呼自己。
