The site is located in Lantian County Lantian Man Chenjiawo village and Gongwangling. In July 1963, May 1964, under the Chinese Academy of Sciences found that ape jaw, skull and sites in two places, the determination of paleomagnetism, Chenjiawo ape-man dating back some 50 million years ago ape-man Gongwangling about 110 115 years, so named Homo Lam subspecies, known as "Lantian man." It was also found stone tools chipped Lantian man of more than 50, and identified 30 kinds of animals that same period, providing valuable information for the geographical distribution of ape and human material record. Lantian ape-man

Lantian Man is China's early mankind, his discovery is of great significance, not only to prove that China is one of the birthplace of mankind, it refuted our race "out for" error, and proved that Marx's "labor creates man" the correct theory.
