鸣人没有九尾的话，实力一定会下降，并且会下降很多。九尾的设定本身对于鸣人来说有帮助也有害处，害处嘛最主要的就是从小村里人对他的态度，听奇怪岸本当初怎么设计的，鸣人父母为了保护村子，又没有能力杀掉九尾，拼了命才把九尾封印在儿子鸣人身上，为此双双牺牲。两人对村子有再造之恩，鸣人也是英雄功勋的孩子，全村那么多人怎么就嫌弃他欺负他呢？这样的村人别杀被灭都不冤，如此作为让守护者寒心。

九尾本身也倒霉，当初大闹木叶时被带土控制所为，所有忍村对于尾兽的态度也是当作大规模杀伤武器在用，封印在忍者身上作为人柱力，人柱力为村子战力存在。尾兽们不情愿的沦为了忍者们战斗的工具，所以九尾一直以来对鸣人都没好脸色，直到鸣人理解九尾。

因为九尾存在于身体里，鸣人从小修炼就事倍功半，对他来说控制查克拉要比别人难得多。没有九尾的话鸣人学会控制查克拉虽然会变得容易许多，但是查克拉的总量上就不会那么充沛了，鸣人非常善于使用的忍术多重影分身就不能随便用了，这招之所以被列为禁术就是因为查克拉消耗量太大，一般的忍者使用轻者透支体能昏迷，重者直接死亡。

除去九尾之外，鸣人还有很多其他的标签，绝对的男一号主角，漩涡一族传人，神之子转世。男主拥有主角光环总能化险为夷，漩涡一族身份却没大用处，漩涡一族擅长封印术，可鸣人连个简单的忍术都学不会结印，更别说复杂的封印术了。鸣人就会两招，一个是多重影分身术，只需结一个印，另一个就是不用结印的螺旋丸，而螺旋丸也需要消耗大量查克拉。神之子转世会得到六道仙人传功。

鸣人的仙人模式与自来也不同，自来也才是最佳用法，把各种忍术转化成仙术，威力倍增，自来也对付佩恩六道时因为情报不明才死，其实他打败他们的速度比当时的仙人模式鸣人要快。仙人模式是自身查克拉结合自然中查克拉，本来是忍术知识越博学越厉害，鸣人实属异类，把所有标签都去掉，从小玩闹着长大的鸣人绝对不如刻苦修炼长大的小李，但会比没了血轮眼的佐助强。没有九尾会使鸣人的成长变慢，但对未来是有好处的，这样鸣人想变强就不得不学会更多的忍术，环境逼人成长。
