Hong Kong Peak Tower
The Peak Tower is a characteristic building in Hong Kong. It is located on the peak of the Peak Gap Mountain between Mount Tai Ping Shan and Goku Mountain. It is also the terminal of the Peak Tramway at 128 Hill Road. It is located at an altitude of 396 meters high and not the top of the mountain, the design is not prominent but not damage the mountain line. The Peak Tower is 428 meters above sea level and is one of the main tourist attractions in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong currency issued in 2003, the Hong Kong Bank of Shanghai and the Bank of Hong Kong issued 20 Hong Kong dollar notes are printed on the back of the Peak Tower appearance.
The Tower is designed by British architect Terry Farrell. 7-storey, with a total area of 10,400 square meters (112,000 square feet), the design concept of fusion bowl and hand show, showing a unique architectural appearance. Was completed in August 1996 and opened in May 1997 to replace the old pavilions which were completed in 1972 and demolished in 1993. In March 2005, the Peak Tower was run by Hong Kong architect Lv Yuen Cheung for a large-scale renovation project with a cost of over HK $ 100 million. The project includes the addition of shops, sealed on the 5th floor of the viewing platform as a concept viewing restaurant, relocated viewing platform, in the Peak Plaza additional entrance and large multimedia display.
The Peak Tower offers entertainment facilities, shops and restaurants. After the large-scale renovation project in 2006, the Peak Tower focused on the characteristics of souvenirs and handicraft shops and theme restaurants, a significant reduction in recreational facilities.
