Hong Kong Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery
Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery is located in New Territories, Hong Kong Hang Tau Tsuen, Ping Shan, Yuen Long, New Territories, introduced one of the five families of the Tang clan history and monuments along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail, on April 15, 2007 officially opened.
Museum converted from April 22, 1899 from the completion of the old Ping Shan Police Station, New Territories, is one of the existing pre-war police station. With China and Britain signed in 1898 after the "Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory", to lease land in the New Territories, violent protests Ping Shan Tang Clan and the British occurred many times. The Government considers the need to build police stations in order to maintain law and order and the provision of government services, and thus the completion of Ping Shan Police Station in the following year, as a police base in Northwest New Territories.
In 1965, Yuen Long Police Station inaugurated, the present site converted Police Dog Unit Headquarters and Training Center. Tang Clan agreement with the government in 1997, the building was converted Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery, and also serves as the Ping Shan Heritage Trail Visitors Center. The end of 2002, the present site officially handed over to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and was a Grade III heritage building. Architectural Services Department at a cost of HK $ 12 million renovation, repair and retained most of the old facilities.
Old Police Station composed of three buildings, the main building is a double-arched building a promenade, white exterior walls, roof subsequent additions Lookout. High in the north wing of the building with two attached connected to the main building, also has white walls, open corridors and pitched roofs, stands two chimneys on the roof, through its location overlooking the Tang Ancestral Hall, Tsui Sing Lau Pagoda and Kun Ting Study room.
